My name is Winslow Vail Brokaw, and I hold a B.A. in International Studies and Education from Middlebury College. I have spent over 12 years working with children and families in the United States, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Chile, Canada, India, and Honduras.
My work has always focused on personal growth, resilience, and creative learning. I began by teaching literacy and art to young mothers and girls with the Mariposa Foundation in the Dominican Republic. Later, I launched a girls’ empowerment program for high school students in Cuernavaca, Mexico, which continues to thrive today.
I have also served as an international trip leader with the Flourish Foundation, guiding students on service-learning trips in Mexico and India. Additionally, I worked as a bilingual case manager at several organizations. I helped launch Fathom Travel, the first U.S. cruise line to sail to Cuba in over 50 years, where I designed immersive service programs for over 700 travelers each week.
Over the years, I have seen that having powerful tools helps us navigate life with calm, connection, and ease. These tools are essential not only during moments of crisis but also in everyday life.
My approach is shaped by both my local and global experiences, as well as my early years attending a Waldorf school from Kindergarten through 8th grade, where creativity, imagination, and a connection to nature were at the heart of learning. Together, these experiences inspired me to create a platform to share powerful tools for building self-love, inner calm, and emotional competence.
Growing up, I lacked the tools to navigate school, friendships, and family with confidence and calm. I was highly sensitive and often felt anxious and insecure. I experienced others' pain and emotions as if they were my own, and felt overwhelmed and burdened by the world around me.
When I was 17, I had my first coaching session with Aleya Dao, a master sound healer, energetic practitioner, and author of Seven Cups of Consciousness. It was a game-changer! Using simple yet profound tools, Aleya taught me how to reference my self-worth, calm, joy, and fulfillment internally. These tools became my trusty anchor, guiding me through life's ups and downs. I still rely on them today, and I wish I could have learned them as a child.
I have trained for 18 years with Aleya Dao, energy practitioner, author, and founder of Seven Cups of Consciousness. I am a Certified Practitioner of the Seven Cups of Consciousness.
I have trained for eight years with Doug Noll, author of De-Escalate: How to Calm an Angry Person in 90 Seconds or Less, in the skill of emotional validation. I am a Certified Practitioner in De-Escalation and Emotional Competency.
I have led education and empowerment programs in schools, nonprofits, and communities across seven countries, from the U.S. to India, Mexico, Chile, Canada, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras.
I speak English and Spanish fluently and offer sessions in both languages.
